MCLEANSBORO — A McLeansboro man arrested last week for allegedly stabbing a woman the foot with an ink pen is now facing more charges following an incident Saturday night in McLeansboro.

McLeansboro Police Chief John Taylor says around 8:40 Saturday night, police received information that 37-year-old Nathan W. Irby had posted bond on Fridayand as a condition of his bond, he was to have no contact with Brittany Stroud, a previous victim in the case.

Police received information that Stroud and Irby were at Irby’s home in McLeansboro. Officers were responding to the home when they saw Irby driving away from the home. Irby was stopped and detained pending investigation into the violation of bond. During the investigation Irby fled from the stop. Officers made contact again with Irby at a home on Illinois 242 north of McLeansboro. Irby was taken into custody after a brief standoff.

Irby was placed into custody for violation of bond, aggravated fleeing and eluding and several minor traffic offenses. More charges are likely pending further investigation.

Irby was taken to the White County Jail pending bond being set by a judge.
