FRANKLIN COUNTY — A two vehicle traffic crash occurred Friday afternoon due to another crash earlier in the morning that had stopped traffic on I-57 in Franklin County.

46-year-old Daniel C. Luke of Michigan was stopped in traffic when the driver of a 2004 Chevy pickup, 23-year-old Ryan L. Coultas of Jacksonville, IL, ran into the back of Luke’s Freightliner tractor trailer.

Luke was not injured, but Coultas was flown to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis with serious injuries.

Charges have not yet been filed pending an investigation. The crash occurred at 12:15PM.
