CLAY COUNTY — A 59-year-old Iuka man was sentenced this week to 18-months in prison after violating the terms of probation on a conviction for felony possession of a controlled substance.
According to Clay County State’s Attorney Andrew Koester, Richard E. Fisk pleaded guilty in May 2016 to felony possession of a controlled substance, and was sentenced to “first offender” probation for 24 months. However, in November 2016 Fisk admitted to violating the terms of that probation and was re-sentenced to another 24-months probation along with time served in the Clay County Jail.
Then last month he reportedly admitted to again violating his probation and agreed to serve 18-months in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Koester says the investigation that led to Fisk’s arrest was conducted by the Illinois State Police, and Marion and Clay county probation offices.
