MURPHYSBORO — Two Murphsyboro men were injured in a motorcycle crash around 6:30 Sunday night at the intersection of Jenkins Road and McLaughlin Road in Murphysboro.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived and found a motorcycle that had been going north on McLauglin Road at a high rate of speed as it approached the intersection with Jenkins Road. The motorcycle failed to negotiate the turn and left the roadway striking a nearby structure.

The riders on the motorcycle, 47-year-old Clyde Dobyns and 45-year-old Scott Dobyns both of Murphysboro, suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to St. Louis area hospitals.

The sheriff’s office says at this time, it’s undetermined which Dobyns was driving the motorcycle. As soon as a driver can be determined, charges will be filed.
