SALEM — A 48-year-old Salem man has been arrested in connection with the Monday burglary of the Village Garden Restaurant in Salem.

According to Salem police, Robert Meador was arrested Wednesday at his place of employment.

Meador is accused of forcing his way into the restaurant early Monday morning and once inside causing approximately $60,000 worth of damage to video poker machines inside the building as he attempted to gain access to the money inside.

He’s also accused of entering the office inside the restaurant where he reportedly took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Video surveillance reportedly showed only one person involved in the burglary.
