MT. VERNON — As the temperatures continue to rise, some residents are wondering how to pay for their next energy bill. The Warm Neighbors, Cool Friends program is just one program that is helping low and moderate income customers that are in financial hardship and need help keeping up with their bills.

Susan Sams is the Executive Director of the Energy Assistance Foundation, which oversees the Warm Neighbors, Cool Friends program. She says there is an agency they partner with in Jefferson County to help those in need.

Sams says because of donations from Ameren covering administrative costs, 100 percent of all money donated by the public goes to help residents in need. For more information on the Warm Neighbors, Cool Friends program, you can visit their website by clicking here.
