CENTRALIA — Centralia police arrested 33-year-old Sandoval man over the weekend after he crashed his motorcycle while fleeing an attempted traffic stop just before midnight Friday.

According to police, they attempted to stop Michael Hill when he squealed his tires. Hill, however, failed to stop and fled on the motorcycle, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

Police ended their pursuit of Hill when his speeds became excessive. He ultimately crashed the motorcycle at McCord and Broadway in Centralia.

He reportedly refused hospital treatment and was taken into custody.

He was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged reckless driving, and multiple traffic control violations.

He was later charged with bringing contraband into a penal institution after he was allegedly found in possession of two narcotic pills while being booked into the jail.
