MARION COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash Sunday night on Bannister Road in rural Salem claimed the life 41-year-old Iuka man.

Crash reports say Justin Edgeworth was traveling alone around 9:30 Sunday night in the 2800 block of Bannister Road when his vehicle left the road just south of the Apple Ridge Road intersection and struck a tree.

Edgeworth was reportedly trapped and unconscious in the vehicle when emergency responders arrived on the scene. Iuka firefighters helped remove him from the vehicle and he was transported to Salem Township Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
