MT. VERNON — An area church has partnered with a non-profit out of the northeastern U.S. to serve the Mt. Vernon community this week. Central Christian Church is partnering with workcampNE to do work on 17 Mt. Vernon area homes for disabled, elderly, or under-resourced residents.

Marc Therrien and Tim Spencer are in town for the mission trip with workcampNE. Therrien has been involved in these mission trips for 20 years, and he says they are always the highlight of his summer.

Those involved with the mission trip will be staying at Mt. Vernon Township High School. Each night around 6:15 they will have a worship service which is open for the public to attend.
