CARMI, IL — A Carmi woman is facing drug-related and other charges after Carmi Police received a report from an eyewitness that the woman was driving erratically eastbound on Oak Street at Conger Avenue around 1:50 Tuesday afternoon.
Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter says an officer saw 30-year-old Ashleigh N. Webb cross the center line into the officer’s lane of traffic. The officer determined through field sobriety tasks that Webb was impaired. It was also determined her driver’s license was suspended.
Chief Carter says Webb was arrested and a subsequent search revealed less than 10 grams of cannabis.
Webb was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, driving while license suspended, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis. She was issued a verbal warning for expired registration.
Webb was taken to the White County Jail where she bonded out later in the day.
