ILLINOIS (RFD) — Farmers are still way behind in planting corn and soybeans but over the past two days more progress has been made. However those numbers won’t show up until next week’s official numbers from USDA. Illinois remained mostly soggy and waterlogged for the better part of last week and that has farmers on a historically slow pace says State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.

Widespread action in farm fields was seen Sunday and Monday in Illinois. Farmers will continue to work around the clock before it starts raining again this week.
