CENTRALIA — The Family Dollar Store in Centralia is one of nearly 400 stores the company will be closing later this month.

Dollar Tree Inc., the parent company of the budget stores Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, said it will close 390 Family Dollar stores in 2019.

The news comes on the heels of the company trying to revamp some of its stores last year to make them more exciting for shoppers.

The Centralia store has marked down much of its inventory and will either shutter its doors by mid June or when the inventory is cleared out.

The company says with the shutdown,1,000 Family Dollar locations will be renovated while approximately 200 stores will be rebranded to be Dollar Trees.

They also plan to open 350 new Dollar Tree and 200 new Family Dollar stores across the country.
