VANDALIA, IL — Storm damage is being reported at the Vandalia Airport after a string of thunderstorms blew through the area Wednesday night.
There is no confirmation at this time as to whether the damage was caused by a tornado or straight line winds.
Fayette County officials are saying that a hanger at the airport was damaged when it was tossed onto another, and an airplane was flipped over.
Multiple power poles were toppled in the area and several customers remain without power Thursday morning.
The area was under a flash flood warning and severe thunderstorm watch at the time and currently remains under a flash flood warning.
No injuries have been reported.
