CARMI, IL — A Carmi man is facing charges after entering his estranged wife’s workplace west of Carmi Wednesday morning and trespassing there after being told the day before not to be there.

Carmi Police were notified just after 9 a.m. about 33-year-old Joshua McPherson being where his estranged wife works. When officers arrived, McPherson had departed and left Carmi.

McPherson was found a short time later by Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter and Norris City Police Chief Diana Tharp in his vehicle near the junction of Illinois 1 and U.S. 45 near Norris City. McPherson was taken into custody without incident and taken to the White County Jail.

McPherson was served with two White County warrants upon his arrival at the jail stemming from earlier similar incidents involving his estranged wife’s workplace.

McPherson remains in jail on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal trespass to property and White County warrants for violation of an active protection order and disorderly conduct. His combined bond is $400.
