WILLIAMSON COUNTY — An Orient man Tuesday pled guilty to burglary – a Class 2 felony – in Williamson County and was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says 24-year-old Kyle Kalaher will serve two years of mandatory supervised release following his release from prison.
Zanotti says on Feb. 18, 2019, an Energy Police officer responded to a call from Rides Plus Call Center in Energy reporting a burglary and theft of a motorcycle.
Herrin, Marion and Johnston City Police Departments assisted with the location of the motorcycle and the apprehension of Kalaher, who had an active warrant out of Franklin County for burglary.
Kalaher has prior convictions out of Franklin County, including the offenses of burglary and fleeing and eluding a police officer.
