Illinois Chamber Hoping for Capital Bill in Session’s Closing Moments

SPRINGFIELD (RFD) — The Illinois Chamber of Commerce has been at the forefront of efforts to promote a Capital Bill in hopes of repairing Illinois’ ailing infrastructure. Chamber President/CEO Todd Maisch (My-shh) is concerned about what appears to be a lack of talks between Democrats and Republicans.

The Chamber has taken issue with some of Governor Pritzker’s proposed funding sources for a Capital Bill, in particular a new media streaming tax for non-transportation construction. The Chamber calls that revenue stream an unreliable foundation for funding because “it will be complex, unpopular and possibly unconstitutional.”
