MARION COUNTY — A 51-year-old Centralia man was arrested over the weekend for alleged possession of between 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine after he reportedly called the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to report being chased.

Derick Witzel was arrested near Route 161 and Racetrack Road when deputies responded to another call of a vehicle stuck on the lawn of a Bundyville Road home in rural Walnut hill.

Witzel had allegedly called 911 to report someone was chasing him and trying to slash his tires. Deputies allegedly discovered the meth after transporting Witzel to the Marion County Jail.
