KELL — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted abduction over the weekend in Kell.
According to an 18-year-old Benton woman, she was with a 10-year-old family member at the Kell Grade School playground around 8 o’clock Saturday night, when a man offered her a ride and the woman said, “No.”
The woman said the man then grabbed her arm and attempted to get her to go to his vehicle. However, the woman was able to break free and ran with the child to a relative’s home a block away.
An aunt at the home then contacted the sheriff’s department and told them the 18-year-old had marks on her arm from the incident but was otherwise unhurt.
The man was described as a heavyset, tall white male with grey hair, who was cleanly shaven. He was reportedly driving a small, two-door red pickup with a sticker on the bumper.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 548-2141. The incident remains under investigation.
