ILLINOIS (RFD) — For the second day this week, Governor J.B. Pritzker is taking part in ceremonies honoring a fallen State Trooper. Earlier this week, he took part in the funeral of State Trooper Brooke Jones-Story. She was struck and killed by a semi that failed to move over while she conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on the shoulder of US 20 in Freeport. Pritzker has offered speeches that might still seem to be influenced by time spent on the campaign trail but when asked about Jones-Story, he spoke from somewhere deeper in the heart.

Pritzker is determined to see improvement in compliance with the Move Over Law.

Pritzker believes the manual for new drivers should have a greater focus on the Move Over Law. Gov. Pritzker will attend the funeral of Trooper Gerald Ellis this morning in Grayslake.. Ellis was killed by a wrong way driver on I-94 in Green Oaks.
