JOPPA — Maple Grove Elementary School in Massac County was placed on lockdown Friday after a custodian was grazed by a bullet outside of the school.
According to a release from the Massac County Sheriff’s Office, all students and faculty were accounted for but the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution. The custodian was treated at the school and was not hospitalized.
Parents and guardians were able to start picking children up at 2:45 this afternoon when the “all-clear” was given. Authorities do not know where the bullet came from at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
