FRANKLIN COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert motorists traveling on Illinois 37 south of Benton in Franklin County of an upcoming road closure.

Beginning at 6 pm Friday, April 5, Illinois 37 will be closed between Forest Baptist Church Road and Commerce Lane, approximately 2 miles south of Benton, weather permitting. The road is expected to be open by 6 a.m. Monday, April 8.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of a drainage structure. Motorists should seek an alternate route. Message boards and signs will be in place to alert traffic of the closure.
