SPRINGFIELD — Illinois State Representative Terri Bryant (R-Murpysboro) has signed on to co-sponsor House Resolution 153, legislation stating opposition to any measure that would allow for the creation of a graduated income tax on Illinois residents.
Bryant says there’s too many unknowns when it comes to the proposal itself, and there isn’t enough effort being made at the state being fiscally responsible.
New Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker had a progressive income tax as one of his biggest promises during his campaign.
