CLINTON COUNTY — The February jury trial has been continued for a 37-year-old Beckemeyer woman charged in Clinton County court with multiple counts driving under the influence and one count reckless homicide in connection with the death last year of her 2-year-old son.

Nicole Voss appeared in court Wednesday on status hearings in the three criminal cases against her stemming from an August 2017 incident that claimed the life of her toddler son.

Earlier reports say Voss ran over and killed her son Jensen in the driveway of a Keyesport residence.

Jensen reportedly climbed out of the vehicle as Voss was closing the rear hatch. She apparently didn’t realize Jensen was no longer in the vehicle and began to drive away, striking and killing the child in the process.

Prosecutors claim Voss had methamphetamine in her system at the time of the child’s death.

Her bail was set at $250,000 at that time and a bond hearing was scheduled Wednesday for February 6 to discuss conditions of bond.

The Keyesport residence where the incident occurred was reportedly the home of a man who was facing multiple meth-related charges at the time; however, he says drugs were not being done at the time of Jensen’s death.

A witness reportedly began performing CPR on the child after he was hit, but Clinton County Coroner Phillip Moss declared the child dead that afternoon.

Police reports say neither Jensen nor a younger sibling was restrained in the vehicle at the time and that Jensen was trying to retrieve a toy from under the vehicle when he was struck.

An April 1 trial date was set in court Wednesday.
