IDES reports less unemployment benefits paid out in 2018

ILLINOIS (RFD) — The Illinois Department of Employment Security touting a drop in the number of residents needing unemployment.

The IDES’s Bob Gough says the agency paid more than $1.73 billion in Unemployment Insurance benefits to 346,882 individuals who lost work through no Fault of their own. Both of those numbers are lower than in 2017 when 372,214 people received $1.9 billion in unemployment benefits.
