MT. VERNON — The city of Mt. Vernon’s Public Works Department will be doing road patching work on S. 42nd St. throughout the day Tuesday.

Public Works director Matt Fauss says the work will be done in the northbound lane of S. 42nd St. between Heritage and S. Water Tower.

The work will begin at 5 a.m. Tuesday and is expected to last until 5 Tuesday evening. The work was originally scheduled to be done on November 14th but was postponed because of the weather.

Fauss says the road will not be closed, but flaggers will be directing traffic. He warns motorists to expect delays in the area.
