JACKSON COUNTY — A fatal crash happened early this morning on Route 4 near Lange Road in Jackson County.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with other emergency responders responded to the scene at 12:45 a.m. and found that a pickup truck had left the roadway for an unknown reason. It went airborne for a short distance before traveling through a field and coming to rest in a ditch. The driver – the only one inside the vehicle – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver’s name is not being release until family members are notified. The crash is under investigation.
