CARBONDALE — A Carbondale man is facing gun charges after a Carbondale Police officer heard and responded to gunfire in the area of North Wall Street and East Oak Street early Friday morning.

Police learned from a resident in the 400 block of East Oak Street that their home had been struck by gunfire.

During the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect as 25-year-old Traeshonne D. Blythe of Carbondale. Officers determined the incident began as an argument between Blythe and an acquaintance, who was an occupant of the home.

Officers located and arrested Blythe at his nearby home and charged him with aggravated unlawful use of weapons, aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon. Blythe is being held in the Jackson County Jail. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
