WEST FRANKFORT — The sheriff’s office in Franklin County says investigators have found a black 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck and its driver believed to have been involved in the fatal hit and run crash on Saturday, Aug. 4 between Benton and West Frankfort.

Sheriff Don Jones says the investigation continues and more information will be released when the investigation is finished. No charges have been filed at this time.

The victim was identified as 47-year-old Jack J. Brown, Jr. of West Frankfort. It’s believed that Brown was walking south on Route 37 sometime after 1:55 a.m. on Aug. 4. He was discovered by a passing utility worker at 7:40 a.m.
