CARBONDALE — Carbondale Police continue to investigate a shooting that happened Friday in the 800 block of West High Street.

Officers responded to the ER at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale just before 4 Friday afternoon regarding the shooting that had happened a short time earlier on West High.

The victim told police he met with a female acquaintance and during the meeting, a male suspect who was with the female, displayed a handgun and demanded property from the victim. The male suspect then shot the victim in the abdomen. The victim was taken to the emergency department for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. The female acquaintance, a juvenile, has been arrested. Investigators are continuing to follow leads in an effort to identify and arrest the suspect.
