WHITE COUNTY — Two people were injured in a crash Wednesday morning on the eastbound bridge of interstate 64 over the Little Wabash River in White County.
According to Illinois State Police, 59-year-old Earl Presley of Tennessee was driving an international truck-tractor semi-trailer combination in the left lane of eastbound 64. 69-year-old Mary Heuglin of Kentucky was driving in the right lane of the interstate passing Presley’s vehicle. While in the process of passing, Presley entered the right lane and struck Heuglin’s vehicle. The impact caused Heuglin’s vehicle to spin out, strike the north concrete bridge railing, and then the truck-tractor pushed the vehicle another 100 feet down the roadway.
Heuglin and one of her passengers were taken to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Presley was cited for improper lane usage.
