MARION COUNTY — A 20-year-old Odin man was arrested Monday night in connection with a high-speed chase Sunday night that led law enforcement through Odin, Sandoval, Central City, and Centralia.
Zacharia Hodge was taken in to custody at his Red Stripe Road home without incident.
Hodge was arrested for alleged felony fleeing and eluding police. He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he remained Tuesday morning awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
Hodge was reportedly in the process of buying the orange Pontiac Sunfire he’s accused of driving during the multi-community pursuit.
According to Odin police, around 8:40 p.m., Sunday, their officer attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle because it had no license plate and instead was displaying a Confederate flag where the rear plate would normally be placed.
Hodge is accused of instead fleeing from the officer. Stop sticks were deployed in Central City, but failed to stop the vehicle.
It was found around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, abandoned with a blown transmission near the Pinnacle Plant on Centralia’s south side.
