HAMILTON COUNTY — A McLeansboro man pled guilty Thursday in Hamilton County Court to a probation violation for unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

According to Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood, 29-year-old Brandon Keown will serve four years on the Class 3 felony and once he is released, he will serve one year of mandatory supervised release.

Keown was originally placed on probation on April 16 of this year. He was originally charged after a search warrant was served on the house he was staying at in McLeansboro. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found inside the house.

Keown violated his probation by committing new charges in White County and later pled guilty on July 11. He will serve his four year sentence concurrent in White County.
