PULASKI COUNTY — Authorities in Southern Illinois are searching for an inmate that escaped from the Pulaski County Detention Center, in Ullin, Illinois.

According to jail officials, two inmates escaped from the facility, but one has been caught.

A description of the escapee on the loose, how the inmates escaped, their identities,  when it happened and other details are not being released at this time due to an on-going investigation.

Officials say the escapee who remains at-large is not considered dangerous.

According to the Pulaski County Detention Center’s website, the center houses inmates for Pulaski and Alexander counties, as well as for Immigration and Custom Enforcement.

This is the third escape this summer in Southern Illinois. In June three inmates escaped from the White County Jail. One was caught within a few days, but the other two remained on the loose for weeks.

More recently three juveniles escaped from the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center. One of the juveniles was quickly caught in Mt. Vernon. Due to privacy issues with juveniles, it’s unclear if the other two remain at-large.
