A man was killed when one of the trees he was cutting on his property in rural Makanda fell on him Monday morning.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and other emergency responders went to the scene around 10:30 and found that 44-year-old Bryan Addington had already succumbed from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
