The Kaskaskia College Board Monday night approved an articulation agreement with Southern Illinois University-Carbondale that would allow students who graduate from KC with an Associate in Applied Science in Automotive Technology Program a smooth transition into SIU-C’s Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology.

KC Auto Technology Program Coordinator Chuck DeBernardi says automotive students taking advantage of the agreement will transfer to SIUC as a junior with over 60 credit hours.

DeBernardi explained that Automotive Technology graduates with a bachelor degree are in great demand because the skills gap is worse for the auto manufacturers.

The agreement is the latest articulation agreement KC has signed with four-year universities to help KC graduates ease their transition into a baccalaureate program.
