A Cobden man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Marion Thursday.

According to Marion Police, the police department’s Narcotics Unit was contacted by a concerned citizen that had recently recovered their previously stolen cell phone. The citizen told police they had continually been contacted by a person they didn’t know trying to sell them methamphetamine.

Narcotics Unit detectives were able to identify the person as 27-year-old Joshua M. Hornback of Cobden. The Narcotics Unit then used the previously stolen cell phone to arrange the purchase of methamphetamine from Hornback in Marion.

Detectives were able to intercept Hornback’s route of travel into Marion and obtain probable cause to initiate a traffic stop in the 2600 block of West DeYoung Street.

During the traffic stop, Hornback was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Hornback was taken to the Williamson County Jail with pending charges for delivery of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
