Benton Police made a drug arrest following a traffic stop at the intersection of Madison and East Main streets in Benton Saturday.

Police say K-9 Ranger alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics in the vehicle after it was stopped.

Upon investigating further, a passenger identified as 47-year-old Rodney G. Sailliez was arrested for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Police did not release information as to who was driving the vehicle.

Sailliez was taken to the Franklin County Jail.

Also on Saturday, Benton Police stopped a man as he was walking in the 600 block of Jesse Street late Saturday night.

Upon investigating, 33-year-old Mitchell T. Mann of Benton was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and charged. He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
