A 22-year-old Mt. Vernon man as sentenced Tuesday in Marion County Court to 3-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated unlawful use of weapons.
Dantrez Brown admitted to having a loaded .357 revolver in his vehicle during a March 16th traffic stop east of Centralia.
In exchange for his guilty plea, charges of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis were dismissed.
When Brown completes his prison term, he’ll have to serve one year mandatory supervised release.
The Marion County sentence will be served concurrently with a 2-year prison sentence handed down in Jefferson County court for an obstruction of justice conviction.
