LAKE OF EGYPT — A 9-year-old Creal Springs girl has died at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion from injuries sustained in an accident involving a jet ski on the Lake of Egypt.

Williamson County Coroner Michael “Junior” Burke says the accident was reported to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office just before 6 Wednesday night. Lake of Egypt Fire and Rescue were called to the scene.

The accident and details of the accident are currently under investigation by the Williamson County Coroner’s Office, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois Department of Conservation.
