State Representative Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) has passed House Joint Resolution in the Illinois House in honor of a Civil War veteran from Jefferson County.

In 1861, he enlisted in Company K Illinois Volunteer Infantry and was soon elected captain of his company.
