A Centralia woman arrested by Centralia Police on Saturday is now facing a felony theft charge from an August 2017 incident at Salem Walmart.

41-year-old Gorgeous A. Jones was arrested for a different matter but CPD turned Jones over to the Salem Police Department for the pending retail theft.

Jones was reportedly stopped by a Walmart loss prevention specialist outside the store after the alleged theft, but Jones was able to grab some of the items and flee in her car.

Jones now faces a Class 4 felony charge of retail theft of less than $300.

Jones has a history of retail theft and previously served 5-years in boot camp following a 1997 involuntary manslaughter charge in Marion County and 2 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following a substance possession charge in 2009 also in Marion County.

Bond in this case has been set at $10,000 and Jones must not contact any Walmart store. A preliminary hearing is set for May 29.
