Just days after being released on bond from the Marion County Jail, a 23-year-old Centralia man was arrested on new charges after he allegedly entered two Centralia homes and then assaulted police and corrections officers.

Jarrod Jolliff was arrested by Centralia police Sunday after they responded to a call on East McCord from a woman saying Jolliff had entered her home without permission.

She told officers she wouldn’t file charges against Jolliff if he would leave her home.

Jolliff then ran from the home, only to reportedly kick in the back door of a neighboring home and going inside. Police reportedly found Jolliff inside the second home, took him into custody and transported him to the Marion County Jail.

It was at the jail that Jolliff is reported to have become combative, resulting in a correctional officer attempting to tazer him. Jolliff is accused of kicking the correctional officer and attempting to take the Tazer from him.

As the correctional officer and arresting Centralia officer took Jollif to the floor, he allegedly bit the Centralia officer.

Jolliff was formally charged Monday in Marion County court with two counts Class 2 felony aggravated battery of a peace officer and misdemeanor criminal damage to property.

On April 5, Jolliff was released on $500 cash bond from the Marion County Jail, where he’d been held since his February arrest on a felony charge of possession of a firearm by a felon with a prior conviction.

He was scheduled for an April 17 preliminary hearing in that case.
