Centralia police are investigating a residential burglary reported Wednesday afternoon on South Perrine Street.
According to Centralia Police Chief Brian Atchison, a resident from the 400 block of South Perrine called 911 around 1 p.m. Wednesday to report two men were inside her home.
Atchison says the resident was watching the two men on a remote surveillance camera. She described one subject as wearing a royal blue hoodie and jeans and the second subject as wearing a gray hoodie and jeans.
Officers from both CPD and Wamac responded to the scene of the split-level home but the suspects had already left the scene. The house was reportedly ransacked with a PlayStation 4 and games taken.
Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene.
Atchison says daytime residential burglaries are the most common as criminals know people are at work and will be gone for a while.
