A 54-year-old Iuka man was arrested over the weekend for domestic battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm after he allegedly fired a gun during a disagreement with his wife.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Greenlee after they responded to a call from his Briarcroft Road home claiming that as he and his wife argued he picked the gun up from a nightstand and fired it towards her. The shot reportedly missed her and struck a wall.

His wife then reportedly gained control of the gun and called 911. She informed deputies that her husband had access to additional guns. But when they arrived he was outside the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Greenlee was taken to the Marion County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
