Carbondale Police are looking for a suspect in an alleged trespassing and attempted sexual assault investigation.

Shortly after 2 Monday morning, police went to the 400 block of West Freeman Street in reference to the incident. An investigation revealed the suspect unlawfully entered the home with his face covered and took actions to lead the victim to believe she was going to be sexually assaulted. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

The suspect is described as an African-American man, standing 6′ tall, with a heavy set build and light brown eyes. He was wearing dark grey sweat pants, a grey fleece hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask with an SIU logo covering his face. The suspect is also described as having a unique accent.
