A 31-year-old Salem man has been banned from the Centralia city limits as conditions of his bail set Friday on an aggravated battery to a peace officer.

Daniel Lane reportedly spat in the face of a Centralia police officer as he was being taken out of a home when the owner requested an unwanted person be removed.

Lane was formally charged Friday with Class 2 felony aggravated battery to a peace officer. His bail was set at $5,000 and he was ordered to stay out of the Centralia city limits if he’s released on bond.

He’s next scheduled to appear in court February 27 for a first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
