A 42-year-old Centralia man was sentenced last week in Marion County Court to 5-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to felony theft for stealing a pack of cigarettes from a Centralia convenience store.

Muriel Givens III was arrested for the incident in March and due to a prior theft conviction was charged with Class 4 felony theft.

Givens was given credit for 150 days served in the Marion County Jail and upon his release from the Department of Corrections he will still have to complete one-year mandatory supervised release.
