Six people were injured in a two-vehicle crash around 1:10 Saturday afternoon in Gallatin County.
According to Illinois State Police, 47-year-old Michael J. Moore of Shawneetown was driving his pickup truck east on Route 13 approaching the intersection at Junction Road when another pickup truck going west on Route 13, driven by 77-year-old Herschel A. Lane of Junction, attempted to turn left onto Junction Road crossing into the path of Moore’s pickup. Moore’s truck struck the passenger side of Lane’s truck.
Lane and one of the juvenile passengers in Moore’s truck were airlifted to a regional hospital. Moore along with 33-year-old Alisha M. Moore and two other juvenile passengers in his truck – all from Shawneetown – were taken by ambulance to an area hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
ISP says the crash is under investigation. Charges are pending.
