A death investigation continues in West City after police were called out to a report about a death or deaths at a home in the 400 block of South Central Street around 3:15 Thursday afternoon.

According to West City Police, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators were at the home last night. Police are not saying how many people may have been dead at the home. They say there is no threat to public safety.

According to the Southern Illinoisan, the Franklin County Coroner, two Abbott Ambulances and some unmarked cars were also at the scene. The ambulances left at 7:30 p.m. The coroner left just after 8 p.m.

Investigators discovered two adults dead inside the home. Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators were contacted to help process the home. The cause of death is under investigation at this time. However, Choisser says he does not anticipate any foul play by a third party.

The victims’ names are not being released until all family members have been notified.

An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday to determine the cause of death.
