Taxpayers can start filing their state and federal income tax returns on Monday, January 29th.
As the Illinois Department of Revenue prepares to accept returns, spokesperson Terry Horstman is reminding everyone that filing electronically is the easiest way to go.
You can expect to get your refund in about four weeks if there are no errors on your return and you choose direct deposit says Horstman.
In 2017, 84% of Illinois taxpayers filed their state returns electronically. For forms and instructions visit the website: tax-dot-illinois-dot-gov.
